DENIS VÉLEZ, Soprano
A graduate of the Opera Studio at the Chicago Opera’s Ryan Opera Center, Denis made her debut with the Mineria Symphony Orchestra and OSSL, as well as at the Bellas Artes Opera, performing “Rosalba” in Florence in the Amazon. She was invited by the San Francisco Opera to perform “La Catrina” in Frida and Diego’s Last Dream. Additionally, she was accepted as a Filene artist by the Wolf Trap Opera in Virginia, USA and won first place for female voice at the LuminArts competition in Chicago. In 2020, she was the winner of the Laffont Competition at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. She was also invited by the US Embassy to perform the US and Mexican national anthems at the 2020 July 4 virtual celebration. The soprano received first place in the French Opera Award and the Francisco Araiza Award at the Carlo Morelli National Singing Competition.
Graduada del Opera Studio del Ryan Opera Center de la Opera de Chicago, Denis debutó con la Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería y la OSSL, así como en la Ópera de Bellas Artes, interpretando a “Rosalba” en Florencia en el Amazonas. Fue invitada por la Ópera de San Francisco para interpretar a “La Catrina” en El último sueño de Frida y Diego. Además, fue aceptada como artista de Filene de la Wolf Trap Opera en Virginia, EE.UU. y ganó el primer lugar para voz femenina en el concurso de LuminArts en Chicago. En 2020, fue ganadora del Laffont Competition del Metropolitan Opera de Nueva York. También fue invitada por la embajada de los Estados Unidos para interpretar los himnos nacionales de EE.UU. y México en la celebración virtual del 4 de julio de 2020. La soprano recibió el primer lugar en el premio a la Ópera Francesa y el premio Francisco Araiza en el Concurso Nacional de Canto Carlo Morelli.
EFRAÍN CORRALEJO, Tenor
He holds a degree in Opera Singing from the Escuela Superior de Música del INBAL in Mexico City and is a graduate of the Chair of Artistic Excellence at the National Conservatory of Music. He is also a graduate of the Bellas Artes Opera Studio, generations 2020-2021 and 2021-2022. Currently, he is Artist in Residence at the Minnesota Opera. He has been applauded for his interpretation of Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni and debuted at the Austin Opera in Cruzar la cara de la luna. In November 2019, he made his international debut in Rossini’s opera The Barber of Seville, as Count Almaviva, with the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. That same year, he performed at an opera gala and participated as a tenor soloist in Verdi’s Requiem in the state of Colorado, United States. He was the winner of the Laffont Competition of the Metropolitan Opera of New York, Mexico District in 2019 and 2021.
Es licenciado en Canto de Ópera por la Escuela Superior de Música del INBAL en la Ciudad de México y egresado de la Cátedra de Excelencia Artística del Conservatorio Nacional de Música. También es egresado del Estudio de Ópera de Bellas Artes, generaciones 2020-2021 y 2021-2022. Actualmente, es Artista en Residencia en la Ópera de Minnesota. Ha sido aplaudido por su interpretación de Don Ottavio en Don Giovanni y debutó en la Ópera de Austin en Cruzar la cara de la luna. En noviembre de 2019, hizo su debut internacional en la ópera El barbero de Sevilla de Rossini, como el Conde de Almaviva, con el Curtis Institute of Music en Filadelfia, Pensilvania, EUA. Ese mismo año, se presentó en una gala de ópera y participó como tenor solista en el Réquiem de Verdi en el estado de Colorado, Estados Unidos. Fue ganador del Laffont Competition del Metropolitan Opera de Nueva York, Distrito México en 2019 y 2021.
MAYELA LÓPEZ, Mezzosoprano
Winner of the Laffont Competition at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Mexico District, 2022. She was a principal mezzo-soprano at the Mexico Opera Studio in the 2022-2024 season. She made her debut as “Rosina” in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia with the Teatro Lírico company in Daytona Beach, Jacksonville, and New Jersey Opera. She was a soloist in Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man in Ireland with the Ulster Orchestra. She has performed roles such as Bizet’s Carmen, Medoro in Handel’s Orlando, Dorabella in Mozart’s Così fan tutte, and Lolita in Mabarak’s Mass of Six. She has taken master classes with teachers such as Elīna Garanča, Nancy Fabiola Herrera, and Verónica Villarroel, among others. She will soon perform Bizet’s Carmen in Medellín, Colombia, and Suzuki in Madame Butterfly in Jacksonville, USA.

JUAN CARLOS HEREDIA, barítono
He has won notable singing awards, including Best Performance and the Bellas Artes Award at the Carlo Morelli National Competition (2014), Operalia (2016), the Yusif Eyvazov Contest (2019), and the Laffont Competition at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. He has performed in South Korea, Russia, Germany, Austria, Serbia, France, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Canada, the United States, Chile, and Mexico.
He was part of the Los Angeles Opera Young Artists Program and is a member of the SIAA Foundation. Among his most notable roles are “Figaro” in The Barber of Seville, “Escamillo” in Carmen, “Marcelo” in La Bohème, and “Mercutio” in Romeo et Juliette. He recently participated in the EOBA 10th anniversary gala at the Palacio de Bellas Artes and with the Chihuahua Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2025, he will debut in Bulgaria and with the National Symphony of Mexico.
Ha ganado destacados premios de canto, como el de Mejor Interpretación y el Premio Bellas Artes en el Concurso Nacional Carlo Morelli (2014), Operalia (2016), el Yusif Eyvazov Contest (2019), y la Laffont Competition del Metropolitan Opera de Nueva York. Ha actuado en Corea del Sur, Rusia, Alemania, Austria, Serbia, Francia, Portugal, España, Italia, Canadá, Estados Unidos, Chile y México.
Formó parte del programa de jóvenes artistas de Los Angeles Opera y es miembro de la Fundación SIAA. Entre sus papeles más notables están “Fígaro” en El Barbero de Sevilla, “Escamillo” en Carmen, “Marcelo” en La Bohème y “Mercutio” en Romeo et Juliette. Recientemente participó en la gala del 10.º aniversario del EOBA en el Palacio de Bellas Artes y con la Orquesta Filarmónica de Chihuahua. En 2025, debutará en Bulgaria y con la Sinfónica Nacional de México.
Camerata Metropolitana
The Camerata Metropolitana was founded in 2006 in Mexico City by Humberto Lopez and is made up of outstanding musicians who graduated from important conservatories and are part of the great orchestras of Mexico. They have performed in venues such as the National Auditorium and the National Center for the Arts, as well as international tours in the United States, Central and South America. Their repertoire ranges from baroque and classical works to contemporary compositions. Among their most notable projects are collaborations with artists such as Björk and Raphael, as well as their participation in Rock en tu Idioma Sinfónico. They have also distinguished themselves for their altruistic work in hospitals and homes, and for promoting educational programs such as “Verano Metropolitano.”
La Camerata Metropolitana fue fundada en 2006 en Ciudad de México por Humberto Lopez y está integrada por destacados músicos egresados de importantes conservatorios, que forman parte de las grandes orquestas de México. Han realizado presentaciones en escenarios como el Auditorio Nacional y el Centro Nacional de las Artes, además de giras internacionales por Estados Unidos, Centro y Sudamérica. Su repertorio abarca desde obras del barroco y clásico hasta composiciones contemporáneas. Entre sus proyectos más destacados se encuentran colaboraciones con artistas como Björk o Raphael, así como su participación en Rock en tu Idioma Sinfónico. También se han distinguido por su labor altruista en hospitales y casas hogar, y por impulsar programas educativos como “Verano Metropolitano”.
